A brilliantly executed mid-century abstract composition of an interior scene, painted in oil onto board.

The artist has intentionally painted this home setting that presents a bed by a shelving unit in an abstract manner, focusing instead on shapes, forms and colours more than any realistic details.

An array of rich colours have been confidently applied through the use of distinct broad and expressive brushstrokes, and the painting has an uplifting quality.

This oil on board is housed in a well-suited wood frame with an inner gilt window. The painting is in very good vintage condition, and the frame has minor scuffs.
