A playful and brilliantly executed mid-century figurative composition of a guitar player, executed in oil onto board.

Drawing inspiration from elements of cubism and geometric abstraction, the artist has masterfully deconstructed the painting down to distinct blocks and geometric forms that overlap and intersect with one another. Each element of the figure and guitar seems to occupy its own distinct space, yet together they form a cohesive and harmonious whole.

The artist has also skilfully used contrasting colours as well as thin black and red outlines to highlight the three-dimensional qualities of the forms yet maintain a sense of flatness throughout the artwork.

This oil on board comes unframed. There is some slight wear and losses to the edges of the painting, but this would be hidden if framed.
