The artist has thoughtfully used a restrained palette of dark moody shades with hints of lighter colours. Through the masterful use of the colour gradient technique employing contrasting shades, as well as expressive and textured brushstrokes, the three-dimensional qualities of the fruits are enhanced and the overall composition is full of character.
This oil on board is housed in a really lovely wood frame with a gilt border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
