A captivating mid-century figurative oil painting, executed in oil onto board.

This semi-abstract composition depicts a side-profiled view of a female figure gazing into a mirror. Instead of her reflection, the mirror displays an abstract array of blocks in contrasting shades against a pink backdrop.

The artist has skilfully layered contrasting muted shades across the surface, and has used a palette knife to reveal underlying hues and add depth and interest to the painting. This technique creates a harmonious blend of colours while introducing an element of texture. This smooth yet textured surface makes the painting visually and tactilely engaging.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary frame with an inner mount. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and there are some marks and scuffs to the inner border.
