A striking mid-century set of abstract paintings that presents a dynamic exploration of geometry, movement, and texture, executed in oil onto board.
One panel is anchored by overlapping arch forms that slice through fields of green and magenta, intersected by rectilinear blocks in turquoise, purple, and orange. The other panel contrasts this with an organic constellation of amoeba-like shapes in plum, teal, and periwinkle, suspended over a rich patchwork of angled planes.
Rendered in a meticulous crosshatch technique, the surface of each panel vibrates with energy. The artist has used fine, directional brushstrokes to build a complex tactile field, imbuing the composition with a sense of movement and dimensionality. The colour palette is both earthy and vibrant.
