A magnificent modernist river landscape composition, executed in oil onto board and dated 1967.

The painting depicts a panoramic view of a river streaming through a lush forest with vivid yellow fields in the distance, and a row of mountains linin horizon.

Angular lines, distinctive shapes, contrasting tones, a restrained palette, and a matte finish are all features in this piece.

The artist has used a restrained palette comprising shades of green yellow, blue and white, focusing instead on the juxtaposition of light and dark. These contrasting tones as well as visible brush marks give this painting its depth and interest. The artist has also applied thin layers of oil to the hardboard, giving the painting an even matte finish.

The oil on board is housed in its original mid century frame with a linen lined border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
