A fun and lively mid century modernist still life painting, executed in oil onto canvas.

Featuring a rich colour palette as well as bold, expressive brushwork, this painting captures a table top scene featuring fish, fruit and bottles in a Naïve style. There is a shift away from traditional perspective and a focus on formal elements like shape, line and colour. It is reminiscent of the St Ives artists who worked under a similar ethos inspired by the landscape of West Cornwall and used its shapes, forms and colours as a source for much of their work.

This oil on canvas is simply framed, and is in good vintage condition.
