A vibrant and confidently executed still life portrayal of a table setting, executed in oil onto canvas.

At the heart of the composition is a cream plate with a blue rim, holding two fish. Surrounding the plate is a vivid yellow lemon, as well as two bottles in varying shapes and colours. The background of the painting has been abstracted down to a blend of muted shades of pink and sage, allowing the bold and striking colours of the objects to stand out.

The textural quality of the painting is achieved through expressive and energetic brushstrokes as well as the layered application of paint, giving a sense of depth and movement.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary deep profile dark grey frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs as shown in close ups, but this does not detract from its overall attractiveness.
