A vivid and striking mid century landscape painting, executed in oil onto board.

This richly coloured panoramic composition presents 2 houses sitting beside each other in a vast open summer field, under a blue sky.

Containing elements of post-impressionism, there is a strong emphasis on bold colours and distinctive brushstrokes. The artist has used a vivid and non-naturalistic colour palette including shades of blue, green, orange and yellow that imbue the painting with a lively feel, and the distinct and expressive brushstrokes add a dynamic touch and expressive effect in the painting.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary simple gilt frame, to which there are some very minor scuffs in keeping with age. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
