A richly textured and coloured mid century modernist seascape in oil, painted onto canvas and dated 1985.

The artist has very effectively captured the dramatic nature of the coastline – from the moody atmospheric skies and choppy waters, to the dark rocks and sand. There is a real sense of depth and power that emanates from the painting, notwithstanding its modest size.

Areas of impasto where the paint has been applied very thickly gives the painting its textural effect, capturing the rawness of the natural landscape.

This oil on canvas is housed in a simple wood frame which suits it very well. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
