A very well executed and detailed mid century modernist composition in oil, painted onto board.

There is a wonderful sense of tenderness to the picture – the artist has used fairly subdued colour palette in this composition, carefully painting in the cottages that sit on top of a hill. We love the contrast between the larger more expressive swathes of colour that he has used on the hill versus the little cottages that sit on top of it that are far more delicate and detailed. They sit to the right of picture, punctuating the composition perfectly and providing balance to the overall layout of the scene.

The painting is housed in a very well suited gilt frame with an inner linen lined border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
