This modernist ‘constructivist’ three dimensional work features cut out panels that have been painted in oil and assembled. The artist has used stripped down, geometric forms and modest materials.  It is a fine example of technical mastery and the organisation of material. Here the role of the artist as ‘painter’ has been re-imagined – the artist is an engineer wielding tools instead of a painter holding a brush. The art has been ‘built’, rather than emerging from an expressive impulse or an academic tradition. As a result, the artwork is intriguing to explore from many angles, and would make a striking addition to any space.

Both artwork and frame are in excellent condition.
