A large and outstanding mid-century composition that captures the tranquillity of a coastal landscape, executed in oil onto board and dated 1956.

Two houses are nestled amidst lush greenery. The setting overlooks a picturesque coastline, where the ocean stretches into the distance, merging seamlessly with the sky.

Executed in a modernist style, the artist has used blocks of contrasting colours to create depth within the composition.

The use of a muted and subdued colour palette including shades of blue, green and grey, further enhances the sense of calm and tranquillity emanating from the scene.

Large in size, the painting would make a statement piece as it invites viewers to immerse themselves in the peaceful ambiance of this coastal retreat.

This oil on board is housed in a beautiful  wood frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some age toning present to its fabric-lined border, and has some general age wear, but it is very stable overall.
