A very large and distinctive mid century abstract oil composition, painted onto canvas.

The artist has not shied away from a dark and heavy palette, applying long and textured brushstrokes in varying shades of black, grey, and brown. The piece is filled with emotion – there is a sense of heaviness and moodiness to it which is just brilliant. We get a sense that the artist is painting in a cathartic manner, expressing his inner feelings onto the canvas. The way some areas of the paint has been allowed to drip down is particularly poignant too.

This wonderful oil on canvas is housed in a simple wood frame.  There is some light scattered areas of craquelure across the painting commensurate with its age, but the paint is in very stable condition overall.
