A outstanding mid-century figurative painting, executed in oil onto canvas by the established Swedish artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989), whose works have been represented in many public collections in Sweden.
The composition depicts a view of two figures standing in front of charming white houses of different sizes. Punctuating the forefront of the right corner of the painting is a terracotta pot.
Displaying an excellent use of gentle and delicate colours as well as soft and detailed brushstrokes, the painting’s overall subtle, soothing and minimalistic feel makes it an easy piece to fit into a wide variety of interior settings.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary frame with a hessian lined border that pairs very well with the painting. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
