A small yet very striking modernist composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

The painting depicts a bustling harbour scene, where a row of boats are docked by the edge of the water. In the foreground, 2 well-dressed figures are walking along a promenade, and a row of buildings line the background of the painting.

The artist has highlighted the silhouettes of the boats, buildings, and figures with a thin black outline, further emphasising their respective forms.

The painting is characterised by a rich and vibrant colour palette comprising shades of blue, orange, red, and white, as well as expressive and lightly textured brushstrokes that reflect the bustling energy of the scene.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame with linen border. The frame has some very minor scuffing in keeping with age. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
