In this scene we see a group of fishermen around their boats by the docks. They appear to be waiting for something, or perhaps have just come back from sea and are discussing their catch before they return home. The painting has been executed in an expressionist manner – the brushstrokes are visible, moving in a myriad of directions, imbuing the painting with a sense of energy and dynamism. The colour palette is calming and tranquil, with blues and browns contrasting against white areas. This painting would look perfect in a nautical themed interior, or perhaps in a setting that is close to the sea.

The painting is housed in its original mid century wood frame which suits it beautifully. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
