An atmospheric mid century modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto board.
In this semi-abstract painting, some houses and a tree are set against a climatic backdrop.
The artist has wonderfully broken the atmospheric conditions into 3 sections. The top layer of the artwork resembles a sunset as it is painted in muted orange and we can spot some dark clouds. The middle layer of the painting presents a clear blue sky; and lastly, the bottom ground layer of the painting depicts a layer of snow or fog that has been executed in expressive brushstrokes in white.
This oil on board is housed in a beautiful deep profile champagne-coloured frame that further enhances the artwork. The painting is in very good vintage condition, and the frame has minor areas of scuff.
