A very expressive and textured mid century abstract oil composition, painted onto canvas.

Broad, gestural marks fill the canvas in a cool palette of different tones of purple, blue and white. Though seemingly simple in layout, as we take the time to study the painting we begin to notice the wonderful blending of colours, the perfect balance of dark versus light, and the almost endless layers of depth, colour behind colour behind colour. Within each individual stroke we can identify a range of colours and tones, showing off the artist’s mastery of colour and medium.

The painting is housed in a wood frame with an inner linen lined border. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
