This panoramic view of nature depicts a quiet path running through vast lands, almost inviting the viewer to take a walk. The path leads up to a large tree that punctuates the centre of the painting, and also goes on into the horizon.
Painted in a beautifully vivid colour palette, this well-balanced painting with an equal distribution of sky and land is enriched with a meditative and calming aesthetic.
Flat planes of contrasting colours painted in gentle sweeping brushstrokes help to create a sense of depth and width to the painting. These brushstrokes contrast against the swift and expressive brushstrokes that have been used to paint the path and tree.
Running close to a metre in length, the painting’s size would make it the perfect addition above a bed or sofa.
This oil on canvas is housed in a beautiful dark wood frame with an inner gilt and linen window. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
