A small and characterful mid century figurative composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

Painted in a semi-abstract manner, we can discern  2 male figures, both wearing hats and with bags in hand, walking by.

All realistic details have been omitted, drawing our attention instead to painterly elements such as brushstrokes and colour.

The painting is characterised by a beautiful restrained palette comprising shades of green, blue and brown, as well as expressive and energetic  brushstrokes that have been executed with much vigour.

This oil on canvas is housed in its original mid century linen lined frame with an inner gilt window that pairs perfectly with the painting. Both frame and painting are in excellent vintage condition.
