A bold and intensely coloured mid century modernist oil composition on canvas, painted in 1962.

Depicted in this picture is a group of figures, one on a boat. Behind them sit harbourside sheds and above them the sun can be seen in the sky. Painted in an expressionist manner, the use of colour here is highly intense and non naturalistic. The brushwork is broad and the paint application is generous and highly textured. Here the artist has incorporated his own emotive response to the scene depicted.

The painting sits within its original mid century wood frame with an inner linen lined border. The painting is in good vintage condition. The frame has some age toning to the linen border.
