A mellow and very restful large mid century seascape composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

Seemingly simple yet very effective in composition, two sailboats with long masts are depicted out at sea in still waters.

Sweeping brushstrokes imbue the work with a soothing quality, and the use of soft muted hues of blue used to paint the sky and sea adds a strong sense of calm.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with a hessian lined outer border. The frame has some scuffs to the silver edges, but overall both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
