A typically mid century modernist oil on board, framed and ready to hang.

Reminiscent of the landscapes of French painter Paul Cezanne, this large post-impressionist landscape of houses by the mountains carry those same distinctive repetitive and exploratory brushstrokes found in Cezanne’s work. The artist here reconstructs nature through purely painterly forms, flattening the space and using faceted brushstrokes. The planes of colour and small brushstrokes build up to form complex fields, creating a visual feast for the eyes.

This well executed painting is housed in its original mid century gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some very minor scuffs which do not detract from its overall attractiveness.
