A bright and playful naïve composition in oil that captured our hearts instantly. Painted in 1984, there is a childlike quality and sincerity to this oil that has been achieved through the use of flattened perspective, thin detailed strokes, as well as a vibrant colour palette. Here a florist stands in the foreground arranging her bouquet, surrounded by beautiful buckets of flowers, as her assistant attends to an interested customer in the background. A row of colourful townhouses and the village hall line the top edge of the canvas, providing a sense of depth and space. The entire picture has been set against a lime green background, which brings the whole piece to life.
This oil is housed in a simple and modern white frame. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
Size: 68 x 68cm (including frame)
