A fantastic modernist painting rendered in oil, giving us a glimpse of a mother and son walking along a cobbled pathway.

There is a strong play on geometrical shapes – as the artist has used blocks of contrasting cool pastel colours to create this compositionally well-balanced work of art.

The painted border gives us that sense that we are inside, looking out, passing time and watching the world go by. The scene of a mother walking her child, and him pulling his toy along, imbues the painting with a comforting sense of the every day.

The painting is housed in a very complementary wood frame. Both frame and painting are in very good vintage condition.
