A well executed mid century abstract composition, painted in oil onto canvas.
This abstract composition features an earthy palette with lovely textures created by thick application of oil paint. The subtle nuances in tones and shades create a rather satisfying composition, encouraging our eyes to follow the expressive brushwork around the canvas. The areas of pronounced impasto add a sense of depth and three dimensionality to the painting.
The painting is housed in its original mid century frame with a lovely hessian border and inner and outer windows in white. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some very minor surface marks, commensurate with age ( as shown in photos). These marks are not obvious and do not detract from its overall attractiveness.
