A charming mid century modernist composition in oil, painted onto board.

In this lovely painting we see two figures out in the garden amongst a group of sheds doing some DIY work. The scene appears to be set in the late afternoon, as suggested by the shadows. The painting is filled with a myriad of colours in expressive and distinct brushstrokes, giving the painting its depth and texture. The composition is rich with detail, and is very well balanced.

The painting is housed in its original mid century gilt frame, with an inner linen lined border. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
