This painting is very striking – large flat planes of colour fit together to create this composition of two seated figures on a coastline, with boats and buildings in the distance. The artist has left out all realistic details, focusing instead on the formal qualities such as shape, form and colour.  The shapes are all very much rounded, creating a general softness to the piece that makes it very appealing to look at it.

The painting is housed in a wood frame that suits it well. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
