A rich and dynamic mid century modernist abstract mixed media composition, painted onto board.
Using a rich colour palette that consists primarily of shades of red as well as touches of green and orange, this abstract painting is composed of circular patterns. These circles of different sizes, appear to be enveloping outwards and it imbues the painting with a distinct energy, rhythm and movement.
Thick layers of paint have been applied, and the painterly and expressive brushstrokes add a lovely textural quality to the work.
This mixed media on board is housed in a white wood frame. There are scattered areas of paint loss across the painting (especially at the top left corner) as well as the frame (particularly to the right outside side).
