A calm and very pleasant mid century modernist street scene composition, executed in oil onto board.

This scenic painting depicts a quiet street lined with red houses and trees on both sides, and that leads up to a view of an ocean in the distance.

A myriad of colours including gentle pastel shades and rich colours have been applied with short and gentle brushstrokes across the canvas; and the subtle blending of shades have been executed skilfully.  The artist has also intentionally made bold black outlines visible, drawing our attention the shape and form of the objects depicted.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary light wooden frame, which suits the painting very well. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
