A striking abstract figure painted in pastel tones in oil. Soft muted hues contrast starkly against the distinct sharp black outlines. The style of this figure is reminiscent of the figurative works by the well known Austrian expressionist painter Egon Schiele whose works like this one, were often contorted, abstracted, unapologetic and emotionally charged.
The painted is housed in a cream coloured wood frame and a white card mount. The frame has some general scuffing, but is in keeping with the general ‘rough and raw’ look of the portrait. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
