An outstanding mid century still life painting of pears, painted onto board. A group of 5 pears in varying colours, ranging from greens, to red-orange, to brown and white, are set against a striking blue glass plate. The painting has a distinct depth to it, as a result of the varying textures that the artist has used. Areas of thick impasto (where the paint is applied thickly enough to stand proud of the surface) are evident, and one of the pears has some form of aggregate applied that have created a thick mottled surface to the left pear.

The frame of the painting is a beauty in itself, and brings out all the textures and colours of the painting wonderfully. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
