An atmospheric mid century abstract modernist composition in oil, painted in 1968.
The artist has thinned his medium, allowing the oil paint to flow on the canvas, bleeding into different areas of colour, and creating a wonderful range of effects. The composition is non representational – the movement of the paint on the canvas speaks for itself. The colour palette is restrained, using a range of yellows and browns and greens that give it an autumnal feel.
The painting is housed in a simple wood frame that suits it very well. The painting is in very good vintage condition. The frame has some minor scuffing, commensurate with age.
