A small but very charming mid century modernist figurative scene, painted in oil onto canvas in 1977.
Broad, expressive brushstrokes fill the canvas, creating a composition of a figure walking through a garden with houses behind her. The artist has left out the figure’s details, using just the simplicity of his brushstrokes to fill in her form. The scene before us is one that is easy to relate to – taking a walk outside to clear one’s head and have some time alone to think things through.
The painting is housed in a champagne gilt frame which illuminated the painting wonderfully. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
