A charming modernist street scene composition, executed in oil on canvas.

The painting depicts a night scene of a bustling promenade teeming with people outside the iconic Moulin Rouge in Paris.

Realistic details of the figures have been intentionally left out, and the artist has portrayed just their slender silhouettes, as well as wonderfully captured the reflection of the figures and the colourful buildings cast against the side walk.

An array of bright colours have been used, thoughtfully conveying the lively atmosphere and mood of the scene.

This oil on canvas is housed in a dark blue floater frame that slightly exposes the sides of the canvas. There is an area of paint loss (as shown in the images), but the painting is otherwise in good vintage condition.
