A wonderfully executed semi-abstract modernist style mixed media painting.

The artwork presents figures of a mother and child, composed from cutout geometric and angular shapes to create the respective forms.

The subject of the painting has an almost sculptural quality, reminiscent of the British Modernist artist Henry Moore, who is well known for his signature abstract forms derived from the human body in both sculptures and drawings.

In addition to the medium of oil, the artist has used an aggregate on top of oil to create this striking artwork. This piece is brimming with character, as there is an added unique textural feel to its surface.

The painting is very good vintage condition. It is housed in a gilt frame with red undertone, and of which has a distinct fractured patterning. That has some areas of minor marks and paint loss on the frame.
