A homely and peaceful mid century modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto board.

Set in front of the blue sea is a fishermen mending his boat. Flanked to his left and right are sheds that give the composition its structure. The clear skies, calm sea, and green grass give a distinct sense of restfulness and quiet. We can almost imagine the sound of the waves going in and out as the fisherman slowly checks his boat.

The painting is housed in its original mid century linen lined frame. The painting is in very good vintage condition. The frame has some general age related wear, but nothing that detracts from the overall attractiveness of the piece.
