A very large and very striking abstract modernist oil composition of a seated cat, painted onto canvas.
This really well executed semi abstract painting of a cat has a heavy emphasis on line, shape and colour. The artist appears to have used one continues thick black outline to create the shape of the cat, and has added 4 large angular geometrical shapes presumably to signify the patches of colour on the cat. All this is set against a vivid red background, set within a gorgeous gilt frame.
Given the size of the painting, it would make a brilliant statement piece in an interior. The painting is housed in a very complementary gilt frame with an inner grey border. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
