A brilliantly executed mid century modernist oil composition, painted in 1959.

Here the artist depicts 3 chickens, but has intentionally left out realistic details and has instead chosen to focus on the formal qualities of shape, line and colour. He has also incorporated lots of texture by using thick paint applied in quick successive motions. This playful picture has been skilfully executed and would make a wonderful addition to any interior.

The painting is housed in a wood frame with a linen lined border. Both paining and frame are in good vintage condition. The frame has some minor scuffs to the left edge but this does not detract from its overall attractiveness.
