A really stunning mid century marina view composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

The artist has worked in a post-impressionist style, skilfully using non realistic colours that are more expressive and personal to convey the way the light touches the landscape and its resulting reflections. As a result, we see an almost kaleidoscope like array of colours in the composition. The composition is grounded by the deeper, darker colours along the bottom half, which also has larger areas of colours compared to the more horizontal brushwork we see in the upper half of the composition.

This wonderful landscape is housed in its original mid century gilt frame with an inner linen lined border. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
