A striking and vibrant mid century semi-abstract composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

A myriad of patterns and colours have been applied to the canvas, creating a wonderful scene of a seated lady surrounded by pots and plants. To the top left we see the suggestion of trees, and then to the middle ground a range of leafy plants around the seated figure. The scene is punctuated by a large bowl, covered in a colourful pattern. The artist skilfully uses colour and shape to its full potential, combining a mix of both fluid expressive brushstrokes with more controlled, restrained angled shapes. The composition is such an expression of liveliness and playfulness, with all the individual elements bouncing off one another and yet harmonising wonderfully.

This oil on canvas is housed in white wood frame with an inner silver window that pairs perfectly with the painting. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
