However, the mood is subtly punctuated by the unnervingly direct gazes of the women, who appear to lock eyes with the viewer, conveying a sense of unease or disturbance.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with a linen lining and inner grey and white border. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
