A large oil on board depicting a modernist take on a winter landscape, painted in 1946. Small and distinct blocks of paint have been applied in a restrained colour palette, creating this semi abstract composition. The artist has successfully and skilfully captured the ‘feel’ of the expansive wintery landscape – there is a palpable sense of the cold, crisp air and the stillness and quiet of the landscape that has been covered in snow.
This large painting is housed in a distressed off while and grey frame which suits the painting impeccably. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
Size: 67 x 78 cm (including frame)
