A fun and exceptional mid century modernist style still life composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

Incorporating elements of cubism and abstraction, this interesting composition depicts what appears to be a table setting filled with an array of objects including a sculpture, fruit and a pitcher.

Using a range of non-naturalistic and a bold colour palette comprising shades of red, blue, black and white, the artist has fragmented the objects down to angular shapes in contrasting colours to highlight their three-dimensional form, whilst simultaneously emphasising the two-dimensional flatness of the canvas.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some areas of light scuffing.
