A very restful 20th century modernist coastal scene, painted in oil onto canvas in 1987.

The composition depicts a picturesque view of a coastline- with lush greenery on hill surrounded by a calm blue ocean.

The painting demonstrates great depth and width – brought forth by multi-directional broad and painterly brushstrokes that sweep across the painting in an expressive manner, as well as the use of a tranquil colour palette that builds up from left to right, drawing our eyes across, with its richest colours to the right of the composition.

This painting is housed in a dark brown frame with an inner gilt window. The painting is in very good vintage condition, and the frame has very minor areas of scuffing which do not at all detract from the overall attractiveness of the piece.
