A finely executed and well-balanced seascape with boats at a harbour, rendered in oil.

Painted in an impressionist manner, the artist has not only used a wonderful palette of varying shades of blues, whites and yellows to render this stunning composition; but has also used a combination of brushwork from long and sweeping strokes, to gentle and short strokes that pervade the painting with an air of calm and tranquility.

This oil on board is housed in its original mid century gilt frame with an inner wood and red lined border. The red on the frame picks up on the palette of the painting wonderfully. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition.
