A beautiful mid century Swedish coastal landscape scene in oil, painted in 1944. The painting has a very calming colour palette, and is the perfect piece to rest our eyes on. Pastel blues, purples and yellows have been painted in with soft brush strokes, and the general scene is very visually pleasing. A group of figures, possibly fishermen, appear to be hanging out some materials to dry (nets perhaps), with a shed behind them and the sea beyond that. There is an overall softness to this painting, from the palette and brushwork, to the overall coastalscape scene.
The painting is also housed in a gorgeous sand coloured wood frame, with an inner gilt border that illuminates the painting. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
