A very confidently executed abstract composition, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1965.

This painting is visually striking in appearance, as it is composed with rich and fiery colours comprising shades of orange, yellow, brown and red that evoke energy and warmth. Although the subject matter appears to be entirely abstract, there is a sense that a landscape composition during sunset could be its source of inspiration.

The painting is heavily textured and has several areas of impasto, where the paint has been applied thickly such that it stands proud from the surface.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in good vintage condition. The frame has some very minor scuffing which is hardly noticeable.
