A large and panoramic mid century modernist composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

Broad, textured and gestural brushstrokes fill the bottom half the painting, creating a rich quality in the painting and capturing our initial attention. 3 houses punctuate the centre of the composition, and to the right an orangey-yellow area adds a fiery quality to the piece, balancing out the composition and drawing our eyes upwards to the top half of the painting.  As we shift our focus, the brushstrokes too take on a different quality. Smoother and more delicate brushstrokes with a lighter texture fill the blue sky.

There is a light and diaphanous quality to this very well executed painting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a light wooden frame with white detail. There are some minor marks to the frame, otherwise both the painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
